A little background on myself and my journey

Hi, I am Scott.

I founded Align Wealth with a simple mission in mind. This was to guide chiropractors to financial freedom and help them discover a better peace of mind through a financial planning process that goes far beyond investments.

A little background on my journey as a financial planner.

I’ve been working in the financial services industry for nearly a decade and I’ve learned a lot about how professionals and business owners make decisions around money and their finances. Throughout my career, my conviction continues to grow, that real financial planning is a process that goes so much deeper than what most Canadians receive from the banks and big firms that are all too often focused on sales.

I launched my independent fee-for-service financial planning firm in 2016 and my focus has been on helping young to mid-career professionals and business owners do more with their money. Financial planning isn’t a one-time event, nor is it an annual review to discuss your mutual funds’ performance… and it’s definitely not just for people with lots of money to invest.

I believe that great financial planning involves collaboration with a financial planner who has a desire to walk through life with you as a strategic partner. It’s about getting a clear understanding of your values, goals, and unique circumstances, taking the appropriate actions, and applying the right strategies to help you achieve your financial goals and dreams.

On the personal side, here a few snippets about who I am.

When I’m not helping clients navigate their finances, you’ll find me spending time with my wife, Anya, and our two kids.

Outside of financial planning, my biggest passion is trail running and obstacle course racing. Over the years, I’ve competed in dozens of OCR events and trail races across North America. I’m a three-time finisher of the 24-hour World’s Toughest Mudder and a two-time finisher of the 120km Canadian Death Race.

I’m always looking for new challenges that push me outside of my comfort zone, both on the trails and in life.
